SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 25

Recognizing the outstanding achievements of Chris Davis, 1995
captain of USA Today's All-USA College Academic First Team.
Whereas, Chris Davis, a senior at Fairmont State College
and a resident of Bristol, Harrison County, West Virginia, has
been named to USA Today's sixth annual All-USA College Academic
First Team. This accomplishment is a great honor, not only for
Mr. Davis but for Fairmont State College and the state of West
Virginia; and
Whereas, The team of twenty students was selected by a
panel of judges from one thousand four hundred nominees
representing five hundred fifty-eight colleges from the fifty
states and the District of Columbia; and
Whereas, The criteria used by the judges to make their
selection was in areas of outstanding individual scholarship,
intellectual achievements and leadership roles in activities on
and off campus. Students were also judged on academic
performance, honors, awards, rigor of academic pursuits and
ability to express themselves in writing; and
Whereas, Chris Davis was nominated to USA Today's All-USA
Academic First Team by the director of Fairmont State College,
Clarksburg Center and the secretary of education and the arts;
therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby recognizes the outstanding
achievements of Chris Davis, a senior at Fairmont State College,
for his selection to participate in the sixth annual USA Today's
All-USA College Academic First Team; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Senate hereby wishes Chris Davis
well in any future endeavor he may choose to undertake; and, be
it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby requested to
forward a copy of this resolution to Chris Davis.
